VTX Red Rider

Here is a project that was a little ahead of its time. Honda introduced the VTX1800 to the public in the spring of 2001, with availability sometime in spring of 2002. As soon as we heard some scuttle butt about the bike, Ken placed a call to Honda. He said guys; we need to build a VTX custom as soon as possible. By this time, Honda was confident in our ability to build high-quality customs and so we managed to get a very early unit to allow Denny to build another Rinaldi-designed bike. To start the project, Denny built a hand made fiberglass body that he shaped from foam. So new was our show bike, when it was unveiling in February 2002, it was almost two months before VTX's hit the dealer's floor.

The Cobra VTX was yet another hit at the shows across the country. Honda for example, shipped the bike to Daytona to be part of their display out at the track.

Emissions Notice

The state of California considers aftermarket exhaust systems to be legal replacement parts for non-catalyst equipped motorcycles and/or if slip-on mufflers are installed downstream of the OEM catalysts.

California does not allow the use of aftermarket systems that remove original equipment catalysts, (except for racing use only) unless the Air Resources Board has issued an Executive Order for that system.

For California riders we offer Air Resources Board approved Fi2000 R ARB units. (ARB E.O. No. D-633-1). All other Fi2000 models are not legal for street use in California.
